This project presented several technical challenges to fulfill the client's specifications regarding AR experience activation. The requirement was to create a completely seamless interaction, eliminating visible markers and instead utilizing only the physical objects themselves as triggers. This approach demanded innovative solutions to maintain both functionality and user experience quality.
I created an immersive augmented reality project that simulated the experience of observing scenic cliff views within an indoor environment. Using a combination of rotary encoders and cameras, visitors could discover hidden layers of information and visual effects while interacting with a physical recreation of the Látrabjarg cliff in Iceland.
Using an Intel RealSense camera, I developed an object detection system in C++ to track the user's arms on the table. This way the users can interact with the objects projected on the table.
Using an RFID reader the system detects the different passive RFID tags embedded in the test tube caps, and plays different videos in response to the sample detected.
Multiplayer game where users control de outcomes projected onto the table by making choices that help (or harm) the environment.
